NFL Sunday Round-Up: Week 6

Welcome back to the NFL Sunday Round-Up here at the Ultimate Football Blog! As always, I'm your man Dustin James and I'm here to catch you up on all the action that went down during yesterday's NFL games. Just so you know, I had company over this weekend, so I didn't have the usual time to devote to this column (that will happen from time to time, especially during the holiday's). Therefore, instead of my usual brilliant game-by-game recaps, you will get a lot of funny meme's. Let's face it people. Sometimes, all you need is a good meme to get your point across.....

Anyway, on with the chlorophyll......

(As always, the Sunday Night Football game is omitted due to time constraints)

Indianapolis - 33 (4-2) @ Houston - 28 (3-3)

Seriously. Who cares if the guy throws 50 interceptions a year? He's the best quarterback in the game right now and if I was starting an NFL franchise, he's the first guy I'm going after and I don't even have to think about that decision. That J.J. Watt guy is pretty good to and he showed it once again in this game, but the quarterback is the most important person on the field and Luck is the best young QB in the game.

Indianapolis Offensive MVP: T.Y. Hilton (9 catches, 223 yards, 1 TD)

Indianapolis Defensive MVP: D'Qwell Jackson (7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery)

Houston Offensive MVP: Arian Foster (20 carries, 109 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 32 receiving yards, 2 TD's)

Houston Defensive MVP: J.J. Watt (7 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 passes deflected, 4 QB hits, 1 fumble recovery, 1 TD)

Up next for Indianapolis: vs. Cincinnati (3-1-1)

Up next for Houston: vs. @ Pittsburgh (3-3)

Green Bay - 27 (4-2) @ Miami - 24 (2-3)

When this guy is in charge of what your football team is producing on an NFL field, you're in trouble.....

When this guy is r-e-l-a-x-e-d and rolling, you're in trouble....

See my point?

Green Bay Offensive MVP: Aaron Rodgers (24 of 42 for 264 yards, 3 TD's, 7 carries, 34 yards, 99.7 rating)

Green Bay Defensive MVP: Julius Peppers (4 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 QB hit, 1 fumble recovery)

Miami Offensive MVP: Lamar Miller (14 carries, 53 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 40 receiving yards, 1 TD)

Miami Defensive MVP: Olivier Vernon (7 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 tackles for loss)

Up next for Green Bay: vs. Carolina (3-2-1)

Up next for Miami: vs. @ Chicago (3-3)

Pittsburgh - 10 (3-3) @ Cleveland - 31 (3-2)

The Cleveland Browns just crushed the Pittsburgh Steelers at home and are 3-2 on the season. LeBron James is back in town and the FREAKING BROWNS ARE 3-2! Clevelanders be like...

Pittsburgh Offensive MVP: Antonio Brown (7 catches, 118 yards)

Pittsburgh Defensive MVP: Cortez Allen (7 tackles, 1 fumble recovery)

Cleveland Offensive MVP: Jordan Cameron (3 catches, 102 yards, 1 TD)

Cleveland Defensive MVP: Karlos Dansby (11 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss)

Up next for Pittsburgh: vs. Houston (3-3)

Up next for Cleveland: vs. @ Jacksonville (0-6)

Carolina - 37 (3-2-1) @ Cincinnati - 37 (3-1-1)

I hate ties in sports. The whole purpose of sports is to determine which team is better than the other so a tie should never be a possibility in any sport. Now I'm annoyed because all season I have to write (0-0-1) as the record for both the Panthers and the Bengals because neither one of these teams could put the other one away. Way to go guys. Now I hope neither one of you makes the playoffs and you draft a horrible bust in the first-round of the NFL Draft as payback for having a tie. NFL overtimes should have no time limits and should be sudden death, bottom line. If you have to play until one team can't move any more, who cares? As least we will have a resolution. A tie serves no purpose at all. Get rid of them NFL! This isn't soccer.....

Carolina Offensive MVP: Cam Newton (29 of 46 for 284 yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT, 17 carries, 107 rushing yards, 1 TD, 85.8 rating)

Up next for Cincinnati: vs. @ Indianapolis (4-2)

New England - 37 (4-2) @ Buffalo - 22 (3-3)

Up next for Buffalo: vs. Minnesota (2-4)

Detroit - 17 (4-2) @ Minnesota - 3 (2-4)

The Lions manage to make it another week where they look like a legit potential Super Bowl contender. Everyone is still waiting for it to all blow up, but as of now....it's all good. As for the Vikings though?

Detroit Offensive MVP: Joique Bell (18 carries, 74 rushing yards, 2 receptions, 23 receiving yards, 1 TD)

Detroit Defensive MVP: Tahir Whitehead (7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 interceptions)

Minnesota Offensive MVP: Jerick McKinnon (11 carries, 40 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 42 receiving yards)

Minnesota Defensive MVP: Jasper Brinkley (7 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss)

Up next for Detroit: vs. New Orleans (2-3)

Up next for Minnesota: vs. @ Buffalo (3-3)

Denver - 31 (4-1) @ New York Jets - 17 (1-5)

No you can't Rex, no you can't. And the worse part about it all? Reports out of New York already are that Rex Ryan's job could be safe next year no matter how the team does this season. Who's running that team over there? Seriously. My 1-year old daughter could do a better job. Even she knows that Rex isn't a good NFL head coach.

As for the Broncos? Ya, they're good. Everyone's sick of it already. Can't you guys just resort to sucking for a little while?

Denver Offensive MVP: Peyton Manning (22 of 33 for 237 yards, 3 TD's, 117.9 QB rating)

Denver Defensive MVP: Von Miller (6 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 pass deflected, 4 QB hits)

Up next for Denver: vs. San Francisco (3-2)

Up next for NY Jets: vs. @ New England (4-2)

Baltimore - 48 (4-2) @ Tampa Bay - 17 (1-5)

If I currently work in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers front office and I'm in charge of this team's player personnel, I have one thing and one thing only on my mind.....

Baltimore Offensive MVP: Joe Flacco (21 of 29 for 306 yards, 5 TD's, 146.0 QB rating)

Baltimore Defensive MVP: Jimmy Smith (5 tackles, 1 interception)

Tennessee Offensive MVP: Justin Hunter (3 catches, 77 yards)

Tennessee Defensive MVP: Jurrell Casey (9 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 tackles for loss)

Up next for Jacksonville: vs. Cleveland (3-2)

Up next for Tennessee: vs. @ Washington (1-5)

San Diego - 31 (5-1) @ Oakland - 28 (0-5)

The Raiders might be 0-5, but it looks like they finally have a baller behind center for the first time since the Rich Gannon days. Derek Carr threw for 4 TD's and had a good game and is quickly making Raiders fans forget about drafting JaMarcus Russell #1 overall and signing Matt Flynn and Matt Schaub to big contracts even though they both clearly sucked. The Raiders showed up against one of the best teams in the AFC and almost ended up with the "Upset of the Week", but fell just short. The Chargers have some thinking to do after this game because on a straight up talent-to-talent comparison, they should have smoked the Raiders but instead Oakland hung around. You can chalk it up to the fact that the teams are divisional rivals and rivalry football games are always played with a little more emotion than usual, but still. Rivers continues to have an unbelievable season and is like a fine wine....he just gets better with age.

San Diego Offensive MVP: Philip Rivers (22 of 34 for 313 yards, 3 TD's, 123.8 QB rating)

San Diego Defensive MVP: Jason Verrett (6 tackles, 2 passes deflected, 1 interception)

Oakland Offensive MVP: Andre Holmes (4 catches, 121 yards, 2 TD's)

Oakland Defensive MVP: T.J. Carrie (4 tackles, 2 passes deflected)

Up next for San Diego: vs. Kansas City (2-3)

Up next for Oakland: vs. Arizona (4-1)

Dallas - 30 (5-1) @ Seattle - 23 (3-2)

The Dallas Cowboys are the best team in the NFC (at least as of this week...) and I picked them to go 3-13 before the season started.

Life is good when you're an NFL team that runs the ball well, has a great offensive line, and is playing better defense than anyone thought you would (the addition of Rolando McClain has been huge). Now, please let me go kill myself while Cowboys fans tell me how stupid I'am for thinking they would only win 3 games (most NFL experts pegged them to win about 5-6 for the record...).

Dallas Offensive MVP: Tony Romo (21 of 32 for 250 yards, 2 TD's, 110.2 QB rating)

Dallas Defensive MVP: Rolando McClain (4 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception)

Seattle Offensive MVP: Jermaine Kearse (3 catches, 62 yards)

Seattle Defensive MVP: Bobby Wagner (7 tackles, 1 QB hit)

Up next for Dallas: vs. New York Giants

Up next for Seattle: vs. @ St. Louis (1-3)

Washington - 20 (1-5) @ Arizona - 30 (4-1)

Washington Offensive MVP: De'Sean Jackson (3 catches, 115 yards, 1 TD)

Washington Defensive MVP: Ryan Kerrigan (9 tackles, .5 sacks, 1 tackle for loss, 2 QB hits)

Arizona Offensive MVP: Larry Fitzgerald (6 catches, 98 yards, 1 TD)

Arizona Defensive MVP: Alex Okafor (4 tackles, 2 sacks)

Up next for Washington: vs. Tennessee (2-4)

Up next for Arizona: vs. @ Oakland (0-5)

Chicago - 27 (3-3) @ Atlanta - 13 (2-4)

DA BEARS!

Chicago Offensive MVP: Matt Forte (17 carries, 80 rushing yards, 10 catches, 77 receiving yards, 2 TD's)

Chicago Defensive MVP: Willie Young (3 tackles, 2 sacks)

Atlanta Offensive MVP: Antone Smith (4 catches, 64 yards, 1 TD)

Atlanta Defensive MVP: Jonathan Massaquoi (4 tackles, 1 sack, 2 QB hits)

Up next for Chicago: vs. Miami (2-3)

Up next for Atlanta: vs. @ Baltimore (4-2)

See you next week! Same Bat-time, different Bat-channel, just to mix things up a bit.
