NFL Off-season Guide: #1

Football season is over people. That's the bad news. The good news is, football season is never really over, especially for people like myself who are obsessed with the team building process. The NFL off-season is one of the best times to be a football fan in my opinion. Why is that? Because it usually gives fans hope that their team is going to be better next season. With draft picks and free agents coming in, NFL fans get excited that their favorite team will actually be able to pull off what the New England Patriots just pulled off last weekend. Unfortunately some NFL fans don't have the time to keep track of every transaction their favorite NFL team makes on a weekly basis. This is what this guide is for. The Ultimate Football Blog's Off-season Guide is a guide I'm putting together on a weekly basis to help everyone keep track of all the moves their favorite NFL teams are making. Until the NFL season starts in August, you will see this guide updated weekly to help make things easier for everyone. That's just what we do here at the UFB...your one-stop shop for everything football-related.

Before we begin, just a few quick notes:

-NFL free agency doesn't start until March 10th, so teams that are signing guys at the moment are usually signing guys that they plan on bringing in for training camp and other small purposes only. These guys are not currently under contract in any way with another NFL team, so they are able to sign wherever they wish. Once March 10th hits, that's when this column will really become important and stacked.

-When you see the words "PFF Grade", that is in regard to the players grade given to them by ProFootballFocus.com. It's a pretty simple formula to follow. Negative points are not good and the more negative points you have, the worse the player is (for instance, a score of -20.4 means the player was absolutely AWFUL). Players without negative points are obviously good at their craft. See, I told you it was easy to understand.
