NFL Draft 2015 LIVE Instant Analysis

It's officially draft time people! Are you as excited as myself? Well, you should be. I'm so caught up in the Marcus Mariota news that I haven't let my cell phone leave my side for one second.

Where's he going to go? Tennessee? Philadelphia? Chicago? San Diego? New Orleans? Cleveland? That seems to be the big question of the hour and we are set to get the answers to that question (and many more) in just a little while.

Anyway, I created this thread to give people instant analysis of every single pick made in tonight's draft as soon as they happen. So, make sure you keep this tab up and keep re-loading and I will keep pumping out the goods as they come in.

Sometimes I'm too nice to you people.....

NFL DRAFT 2015 LIVE INSTANT ANALYSIS

*Top 20 player rankings are found at the bottom of this column......

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston - QB, Florida State

Great pick for the Bucs. Winston is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck and as long as he has his stuff together, he should end up being a solid NFL QB. The Bucs haven't had that in along time so they should be happy with this pick. Just cross your fingers that this kid matures....quickly.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Leonard Williams (DE, USC)
2. Dante Fowler (EDGE, Florida)
3. Amari Cooper (WR, Alabama)
4. Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)
5. Marcus Mariota (QB, Oregon)

2. Tennessee Titans: Marcus Mariota - QB, Oregon

Well, Marcus Mariota didn't end up where we thought he would....but we still love him. I'm going to go ahead and buy my #8 Tennessee jersey now. Now I gotta cheer for the TITANS! Ugh.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Leonard Williams (DE, USC)
2. Dante Fowler (EDGE, Florida)
3. Amari Cooper (WR, Alabama)
4. Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)
5. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)

3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Dante Fowler - EDGE, Florida

Fantastic pick for the Jaguars who need to build up their defense under head coach Gus Bradley. Fowler is the best pass rusher in the draft and he's an in-state product. Win/win for the Jaguars, who don't get a lot of those, so KUDOS!

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Leonard Williams (DE, USC)
2. Amari Cooper (WR, Alabama)
3. Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)
4. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
5. Brandon Scherff (OL, Iowa)

4. Oakland Raiders: Amari Cooper - WR, Alabama

This is a fantastic pick for the Raiders (who don't make them that often). Cooper is the best wide receiver in the draft and they need to get Derek Carr some weapons. What is going with the Raiders? Between this pick and the draft picks they made last year, they are actually putting together a formidable football team. STOP IT OAKLAND!

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Leonard Williams (DE, USC)
2. Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)
3. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
4. Brandon Scherff (OL, Iowa)
5. Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)

5. Washington Redskins: Brandon Scherff - OL, Iowa

Scherff is the best offensive lineman in the draft, but I don't know how you pass on Leonard Williams though. I don't know how I feel about this pick, but right now....I'm not thrilled with it. I would've taken Williams and been happy as hell if I was the Redskins.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Leonard Williams (DE, USC)
2. Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)
3. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
4. Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)
5. Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)

6. New York Jets: Leonard Williams - DL, USC

Great pick for the Jets. I think Williams is the most pro ready player in the draft and has all the tools and athletic ability to make an immediate impact. The Jets defensive line was already filthy and now that they have added Williams, yikes. Is someone getting traded in New York?

 Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)
2. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
3. Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)
4. Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)
5. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)

7. Chicago Bears: Kevin White - WR, West Virginia

The Bears really needed to add some defensive players and were probably really hoping that Williams fell to them here. Close, but no cigar. Instead, Kevin White is the consolation prize, but he's a hell of a consolation prize. The Bears traded Brandon Marshall in the off-season and they need to replace him and give Cutler another weapon to throw to opposite Alshon Jeffery. I like the pick.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
2. Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)
3. Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)
4. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
5. DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)

8. Atlanta Falcons: Vic Beasley - EDGE, Clemson

This pick is kind of a shocker. Beasley had been slipping on draft boards lately and I feel as though there were some better pass rushers available (Bud Dupree and Randy Gregory for example). Beasley wasn't even taken in the first-round of ESPN's "Mel Kiper/Todd McShay" combo mock draft a few days ago and now he's been taken with the eighth overall pick. Definitely the exact definition of a "gamble pick" by the Falcons.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
2. Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)
3. Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)
4. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
5. DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)

9. New York Giants: Ereck Flowers - OL, Miami

I know the Giants really needed an offensive lineman, but this pick was a big-time reach. I personally didn't have Flowers ranked in my top-20, yet the G-Men took him with the ninth pick. I know they were really hoping that Brandon Scherff fell to them, but you don't always get what you want. Still, the Giants likely could've traded back and got Flowers or a player just as good and ended up with a little something else as well. Thumbs down.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
2. Todd Gurley (RB, Georgia)
3. Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)
4. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
5. DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)

10. St. Louis Rams: Todd Gurley - RB, Georgia

I constantly say that you shouldn't take a running back in the first-round of the NFL Draft, but the more I see tape on Gurley, the more I love the kid. He reminds me a lot of Adrian Peterson and if the Rams just got themselves their own version of AP....how can you not love the pick regardless of where it's at? Gurley has the potential to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year next year in the NFL. As a matter of fact, I'm betting money on it.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
2. Trae Waynes (CB, Michigan State)
3. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
4. DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)
5. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)

11. Minnesota Vikings: Trae Waynes - CB, Michigan State

The Vikings were in desperate need of help in their secondary, especially at the corner position. They end up with the guy who I believe is the best cornerback in the draft. Good pick by Minnesota.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Danny Shelton (DT, Washington)
2. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
3. DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)
4. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
5. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)

12. Cleveland Browns: Danny Shelton - DT, Washington

Wait. Not only are the Oakland Raiders and New York Jets making good picks tonight....but the Cleveland Browns are actually making solid selections to? That's it. I'm going home.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
2. DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)
3. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
4. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
5. Arik Armstead (DL, Oregon)

13. New Orleans Saints: Andrus Peat - OT, Stanford

Well, the theme of the night appears to be "reach for offensive lineman". Peat is a good player who has the chance to be the best offensive tackle in the draft, but that's not saying much in a draft that is weak at that position. I feel like this was a bit of a reach by the Saints as they probably could have traded back some picks and still got Peat. Will some people never learn?

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
2. DeVante Parker (WR, Louisville)
3. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
4. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
5. Arik Armstead (DL, Oregon)

14. Miami Dolphins: DeVante Parker - WR, Louisville

I was really hoping that Parker would fall to the Chiefs, but I don't get my wish. The Dolphins take Parker in a pick that I absolutely love. Contrary to popular opinion, Ryan Tannehill isn't that bad of a QB and if he's given the right kind of weapons (Mike Wallace is not that guy as we all saw), he should continue to improve in the NFL. Parker was a great pick for the Dolphins and should make an immediate impact next season.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
2. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
3. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
4. Arik Armstead (DL, Oregon)
5. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)

15. *TRADE* San Diego Chargers: Melvin Gordon - RB, Wisconsin

Two running backs taken in the first fifteen picks? Wow. I thought this was a new era in the NFL? Anyway, I like the pick for the Chargers, but I'm not sure they had to move up to get him. Were the Texans or the 49ers going to take Gordon? I don't personally think so, but if the Chargers felt like Gordon was going to be gone, they needed to do what they had to do. They now have their own version of Jamaal Charles to compete with the real Jamaal Charles in their division and it gives Rivers a real running game.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
2. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
3. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
4. Arik Armstead (DL, Oregon)
5. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)

16. Houston Texans: Kevin Johnson - CB, Wake Forest

Kevin Johnson could end up as the best corner in the draft, and even though I had Marcus Peters ranked ahead of him, I still love the pick. Johnson was one of my dark horses in this draft as a guy who could be ready to start from day one and now he ended up on a team that's already dangerous defensively in the Houston Texans. Good lord people. How is anyone going to score on these guys?

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
2. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
3. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
4. Arik Armstead (DL, Oregon)
5. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)

17. *TRADE* San Francisco 49ers: Arik Armstead - DL, Oregon

Love this pick for obvious reasons. I had the Niners taking Armstead in my mock draft and they got the kid and traded back to get him. Win/win.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Marcus Peters (CB. Washington)
2. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
3. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
4. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
5. Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)

18. Kansas City Chiefs: Marcus Peters - CB, Washington

Absolutely love this pick. Kansas City is in dire need of help at the corner position and Peters is a good who can step in from day one and contribute. Peters may have been the best corner in the draft, but dropped because of character concerns (he was kicked off the Washington team after butting heads with head coach Chris Petersen). We all know how Andy Reid does with guys that have character concerns. I have high hopes for this kid and LOVE this selection.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
2. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
3. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
4. Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)
5. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)

19. Cleveland Browns: Cameron Erving - OL, Florida State

Two fantastic selections for the Cleveland Browns tonight and they didn't end up with Marcus Mariota either (which is good for my sake....). Go home Cleveland. Don't touch anything on your way out either. You're having a good night and you don't want anything to ruin it. Wait, didn't we say this about Cleveland last year to though????

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
2. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
3. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
4. Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)
5. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)

20. Philadelphia Eagles: Nelson Agholor - WR, USC

I hate this pick. Why? Because the Eagles didn't end up with Marcus Mariota. Screw you for letting me down Chip.

(Agholor is a fine player honestly and is a good selection by the Eagles, who have no quarterback to throw to him)

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
2. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
3. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
4. Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)
5. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)

21. Cincinnati Bengals: Cedric Ogbuehi - OT, Texas A&M

The Bengals reached with this pick here. Ogbuehi is a good prospect, but he wasn't worth the 21st pick in the draft. He's coming off an injury and he was one of the guys who continued to slip down draft boards as the process continued. Well, apparently everyone's draft board but the Cincinnati Bengals.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Bud Dupree (EDGE, Kentucky)
2. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
3. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
4. Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)
5. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)

22. Pittsburgh Steelers: Bud Dupree - EDGE, Kentucky

What a "Pittsburghy Steelery" (I know that's not a word, but it is now) draft pick by the Steelers. Bud Dupree is one of the best pass rushers in the draft and was one of the biggest areas of need for the Steelers. Dupree was widely considered to be a top-10 pick in the draft by many pundits, but slipped on draft night and you know who wins? The Pittsburgh Steelers, that's who. Wave that terrible towel Steelers fans. You guys always nail it on draft night.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
3. Shane Ray (EDGE, Missouri)
4. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
5. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)

23. *TRADE* Denver Broncos: Shane Ray - EDGE, Missouri

The Broncos traded up and obviously had a target in mind. That guy was Shane Ray. At one time, Ray was considered a top-10 pick in the draft but continued to slide due to injury concerns and then a marijuana bust. At this point in the draft, he's obviously worth the risk because he has the chance to be something special. However, he's going to Colorado and we all know what's legal in Colorado. This could mean trouble.....

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
3. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
4. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
5. Byron Jones (CB, UConn)

24. Arizona Cardinals: D.J. Humphries - OT, Florida

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh. I don't get this one at all. Once again, the theme continues.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
3. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
4. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
5. Byron Jones (CB, UConn)

25. Carolina Panthers: Shaq Thompson - LB, Washington

Shaq Thompson is one of my favorite players in this draft. Was this a bit of a reach by the Panthers? Yes, but Thompson will probably end up worth it when it's all said and done. I followed this kid closely in college and he excelled everywhere on the football field. Unfortunately, that's also the biggest knock on him as he doesn't really have a natural position in the NFL. He could play linebacker, safety, running back, or maybe even wide receiver if you ask him nicely. Either way, the guy's going to make an impact.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Breshad Perriman (WR, UCF)
3. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
4. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
5. Byron Jones (CB, UConn)

26. Baltimore Ravens: Breshad Perriman - WR, UCF

Love this pick for the Ravens. Perriman was highly thought to be drafted somewhere in the 10-20 range and the Ravens are getting good value with him at 26. Baltimore lost Torrey Smith in the off-season and found the perfect guy to replace him with.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
3. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
4. Byron Jones (CB, UConn)
5. Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)

27. Dallas Cowboys: Byron Jones - CB, UConn

I like this pick for the Cowboys. Jones is an athletic freak and his stock skyrocketed after blowing everyone away at the NFL Combine. The Cowboys really needed a good corner and Jones gives them one. Damn you Jerry Jones. Why not do something fun like take Randy Gregory for the headlines? Quit being boring Jerry!!!

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
3. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
4. Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)
5. Jaelen Strong (WR, Arizona State)

28. *TRADE* Detroit Lions: Laken Tomlinson - OG, Duke

I really felt like the Lions were going to take Malcolm Brown to help replace the loss of Ndamukong Suh, but apparently I was wrong. Instead they reach for an offensive lineman, just like everyone else selecting offensive lineman at this point in the draft. You gotta do what you gotta do though. If you need help on the offensive line (and the Lions do), than you gotta grab your guy before the pickings get even slimmer. I still would have liked this pick a whole lot more had it been Brown....

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
3. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
4. Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)
5. Jaelen Strong (WR, Arizona State)

29. Indianapolis Colts: Phillip Dorsett - WR, Miami

I don't hate this pick, but I also don't love it. I guess that means I like it? I don't know. This whole process is starting to drain me out and at this point....I think I'm even starting to find Mel Kiper somewhat attractive. God help me.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
3. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
4. Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)
5. Jaelen Strong (WR, Arizona State)

30. Green Bay Packers: Damarious Randall - S, Arizona State

The Packers reached here for Randall. He's not even the best safety in the draft (Landon Collins is) and unless the Packers have plans on playing him at corner, I don't really get it. Are the Green Bay brass feeling just as tired as myself?

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
3. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
4. Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)
5. Jaelen Strong (WR, Arizona State)

31. New Orleans Saints: Stephone Anthony - LB, Clemson

No, just no. Stephone Anthony wasn't even the best linebacker available. Give me Eric Kendricks, Denzel Perryman, Bernardrick McKinney, and Paul Dawson over Anthony. Just an awful pick by the Saints in my personal opinion.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Randy Gregory (EDGE, Nebraska)
2. Dorial Green-Beckham (WR, Oklahoma)
3. Malcolm Brown (DT, Texas)
4. Eddie Goldman (DT, Florida State)
5. Jaelen Strong (WR, Arizona State)

32. New England Patriots: Malcolm Brown - DT, Texas

I had the Patriots taking defensive tackle Eddie Goldman in my mock draft because I didn't think there was anyway Malcolm Brown would still be on the board. Well, the rich just got richer. New England Patriots fans, meet your replacement for Vince Wilfork. Enjoy him for the next 10+ seasons.
