2015-16 NFL Pre-Season Position Rankings: 3-4 Outside Linebackers

We are about halfway through the NFL's off-season. OTA's have already started. Players are already getting injured. And the 2015-16 NFL season is getting so close, we can hear the footsteps coming up to the door and someone's just about ready to knock. With that said, it's time to look ahead at next season.

Now that NFL rosters are pretty much finalized (besides numerous upcoming cuts of course), it's time to start giving you guys an idea of how your team is shaping up for next season. What better way to do that than to start power ranking the starters at every position on each roster? It only makes sense.

Up next? The outside linebackers currently playing in a 3-4 defense (aka a star-studded list)......

KEY NOTE: This is a POWER RANKINGS. That means it's a "what have you done for me lately?" list. This is not an ALL-TIME greatest list. If the NFL commissioner came up to me tomorrow and said:

"Hey, you can have any starting outside linebackers currently playing in a 3-4 defense....who do you want?"

It would (most likely) go in this order.......

(PS: PFF grade means "Pro Football Focus Grade". For those of you who don't know, ProFootballFocus.com is an football analytics website that grades players based on a certain criteria and it's a criteria that I've come to love. It's a pretty simple grading formula to figure out as well. The more negative score the player has, the least effective he was on-the-field last season. For example a "-24.8" grade would be absolutely awful, but a "24.8" grade means the player was outstanding. See, I told you it was easy to figure out)

*Please note that I'm also ranking guys as if I was building a franchise for the future. Therefore, I tend to favor age a lot in these rankings. It's why the Indianapolis Colts traded Peyton Manning when they drafted Andrew Luck. In the NFL, age is KING!

Top 2016 NFL Draft Prospects

The 2015 NFL Draft is behind us. Good riddance, if I may say so myself. A draft that started out with so much promise with rumor after rumor ending up lacking in any kind of drama. As a matter of fact, the draft in the movie Draft Day was more exciting than last weekend's draft (and yes, I may still be a little bitter about the Philadelphia Eagles not getting Marcus Mariota).

The only thing that can help take the horrible taste of the 2015 NFL Draft out of our mouths....is an appetizer of the 2016 NFL Draft of course! EVERYONE loves them some draft coverage, so why not start extremely early on next year's draft?

In this column, you will find a list of college football prospects who will likely be selected in the first-round of the NFL Draft next season. These are the guys you should be paying close attention to next season as they will probably be the players that NFL fans everywhere are drooling over next April (or is it May next year?). And if they aren't, well then it'll be fun to go back and look at how I wrong I was next year, won't it?

2016 NFL Draft Prospects

This isn't an actual "rankings" list. It's just a list of guys I think will be the top prospects next season. They aren't ranked in order beyond that.

Red font denotes a potential top-10 pick next year.

Quarterback:

1. Cardale Jones (Ohio State)
2. Christian Hackenburg (Penn State)
3. Connor Cook (Michigan State)

The Complete List Of Every 2015 NFL Draft Pick

Ladies and gentlemen....the 2015 NFL Draft is officially in the books (yay?). After a year of debates, predictions, and tons of "Marcus Mariota/Philadelphia Eagles" rumors, it's all finally come to an end. However, we can't go forward without looking back first.

Like I said the other day, the NFL Draft is a long process that can be utterly boring to the average NFL fan. It can be confusing with all the player movements that happen and watching it on television doesn't always make it easier to keep track of "which player went where". That's why this guide is here. Below you will find EVERY single draft pick made this year arranged by team. Not only that, but as an added bonus....you will also get a complete list of where all the un-drafted players ended up. Why? Because I love you guys. That's why.

NFL Draft Review (so far).

The NFL Draft is a loooooooooooong and "boring" process for a lot of people. The last two days have been pretty hectic in the National Football League and a lot of fans can get confused by all the player movement. This column should help settle everything down for you (until your favorite NFL teams adds 4-5 more players today that is)......

NFL Draft 2015 Review (so far)

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Picks:

(Round 1) Jameis Winston - QB, Florida State

(Round 2) Donovan Smith - OT, Penn State

(Round 3) Ali Marpet - OG, Hobart

My Favorite Pick: Jameis Winston

My Least Favorite Pick: Donovan Smith

Remaining Team Needs: OLB

The Bucs got the best quarterback in the draft, so they have to be happy with that at least. Where I'm struggling with the Bucs is the Donovan Smith pick. There are all sorts of draft pundits who question Smith's love for the game of football (one of the few traits that's hard to scout). Anytime someone's questioning your love for your profession, that's not a good thing. Ali Marpet was a solid selection in the third-round though. He's a small school kid who could blossom into an NFL star.
