OH NO!
We still have the 2015-16 College Football Bowl Preview coming up. The 2015-16 College Football Round-Up FINALE coming up at the end of the bowl season. And of course, the College Football Awards that everyone is going to love to hate.
Anyway.
You smell that?
That's right. Smells like GO TIME!
ARE YOU READY?????..................

LETTTTTTTTT'S GET READY TO FUMBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBLEEEEEEEEEEEE...........
Top 25 Scoreboard:
(A recap of all the action involving the top 25 teams in college football)
(1) Clemson (13-0): 45 (7) North Carolina (11-2): 37
Well Clemson, you did it! All season long, people were waiting for "it" to happen. "It" was bound to happen to the Clemson Tigers considering "it" happens every year to this team.
The "it" that I'm talking about of course is the word "Clemsoning". Oh, you've never heard of "Clemsoning"? The definition is actually pretty easy to figure out if you just think about it, but for those of you who don't know. "Clemsoning" is...
The act of delivering an inexplicably disappointing performance, usually within the context of a college football season.
See? It had become such a joke in the sport of college football that the Clemson Tigers would blow up at some point and lose a game that they had no business losing that it had actually become an adjective in the English language. However, this Clemson team appears to be different than the other Clemson teams from the past. This team looks like it could legitimately be hoisting the National Championship at the end of the year. They have one of the best coaches in the game. They have a transcendent player at the QB position in Deshaun Watson. And they are just overall a really good football team. Do I think they will win the entire thing? No. But you would be foolish to think that they don't at least have a chance in the playoffs.
Let's give some props to North Carolina before we move along. All season long, people kind of looked at UNC with hesitation. It could be because UNC lost to South Carolina in week one and with the season South Carolina had, it was hard to believe any top-25 team could lose to them, but the Tar Heels did back in September. That loss no doubt stuck with the team the entire time as they played their asses off and got better as the season progressed. They had a serious shot at winning the ACC title (they were screwed by the refs after a phantom off-sides call that pretty much gift wrapped the game for Clemson) and the end result was a contract extension for head coach Larry Fedora. While the season didn't exactly end the way North Carolina fans had hoped, they still have to be happy with the direction this team is heading in.....
Stop being so emo, Michael. It was a good season for UNC....
(2) Alabama (12-1): 29 (13) Florida (10-3): 15
Few things in life are guaranteed.
Death. Taxes. And Alabama playing for a National Title.
We have now had the playoff system in tact for two seasons in college football and the Crimson Tide are now 2 for 2 with playoff appearances. Last year, the Tide faced off against a highly motivated Ohio State team (that people said didn't belong in the playoffs) and ended up getting booted. Something tells me that Nick Saban and company have learned from their mistake. All season long, Alabama had the best defense in college football. They've only allowed two teams to score over 20 points on them and when they are locked in.....THEY ARE LOCKED IN. That reason alone is why I'm picking this team to win it all. Defense almost always wins championships and when you line the Alabama defense up against any of the other offensive units currently in the playoff, the advantage has to point towards Bama.
Of course, it's not a given that Alabama is just going to cruise through the playoff playing tremendously good defense. They have yet to play an offense with a REALLY good QB this season, so it's going to be interesting to see how the Tide do against the likes of Deshaun Watson and the Clemson Tigers, Baker Mayfield and the Oklahoma Sooners, or Connor Cook and the Michigan State Spartans. No matter who Alabama faces in the playoffs, they will likely be playing a team that has a better QB than any team they faced in the regular season. That will definitely be something to watch for as the playoffs start, but I feel extremely comfortable taking Nick Saban and his team of future NFL players over an ACC team not named Florida State, an Oklahoma team that has a history of choking, and a Michigan State team that is probably in the playoff more due to luck than actual skill.
Get ready to see this a couple more times this season.....
(3) Michigan State (12-1): 16 (5) Iowa Hawkeyes (12-1) 13
This game just screamed "9-6" to me, so I avoided it like the plague. It's a good thing to, because even though it wasn't quite "9-6"....it was close. Look, I know there's going to be "defensive battles" in the game of football and I know some fans like watching those. Myself? I'll pass. I'm an offensive football guy all the way. I would much rather see Aaron Rodgers fling a 70-yard HAIL MARY than see the Michigan State Spartans come out and stuff the Iowa Hawkeyes in a battle of offensive line vs. defensive line. My life is filled with excitement and I don't need to watch Michigan State and Iowa battle in a game of "punting".
Anyway, even though Iowa lost, let's give them some credit. I wasn't buying what Iowa was selling all-year long and they almost made me look foolish. They took the Spartans to the wire (even though I predicted Michigan State would smash them) and are literally a field goal away from their first appearance in the College Football Playoff. Iowa is one of the most boring states in the United States and it's no secret that an appearance in the CFP would've put some eyeballs on that program. Close, but no cigar.
As for the Spartans, I fully expect them to lose in the first-round of the playoffs, no matter who they face. I'm not buying this team AT ALL. SELL YOUR STOCK PEOPLE BEFORE IT BLOWS UP IN YOUR FACE!

(8) Stanford (11-2): 41 (25) USC (8-5): 22
Congratulations Stanford.
Congratulations on winning the PAC-12 title, even though you didn't beat every team in the PAC-12.
This conference title for Stanford should come with an asterisk and we all know why. Even though Stanford finished the season with the best record in the conference, they still lost to the Oregon Ducks back on November 14 and anyone paying attention to college football can tell you that the Ducks were the best team in the PAC-12 at the end of the year. The only reason Stanford was playing for a conference title was because Ducks starting QB Vernon Adams was injured in the first game of the year and didn't get healthy until about the end of October and the Ducks started steam-rolling people. With Adams injured, Oregon lost a close game to Michigan State, got absolutely steam-rolled by Utah (I think Oregon could beat Utah if the two teams played again today), and got beat by Washington State in overtime using their third-string QB. See what I mean?
So, go ahead and claim your "conference championship" for 2015 Stanford. You guys did deserve it. However, everyone knows who the real PAC-12 champs are.....

Just saying!
(14) Houston (12-1): 24 (22) Temple (10-3): 13
Good job on winning the AAC, Houston. Winning the AAC championship is right up there with other life-long dreams such as "being the ugliest guy in class" or "being the fattest person in town".
Winning the AAC title is slightly better than winning the Little League Championship in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Winning the AAC title is slightly better than the Harlem Globetrotters beating the Washington Generals.
Winning the AAC title is slightly better than a WWE wrestler winning the Intercontinental Title.
Winning the AAC title is slightly better than beating your best friend in an intense game of "rock, paper, and scissors".
You get my point yet? The AAC is a pretty good conference, but let's not act like these guys are "world beaters" or anything. How about we move Houston (and Memphis) to the BIG 12, so we can actually have TWELVE TEAMS IN THE CONFERENCE? It's not rocket science people.
(15) Baylor (9-3): 17 Texas (5-7): 23
Remember when people swore up and down that Baylor was a legit National Title contender, meanwhile I wasn't buying it AT ALL?
Well Baylor.....you just lost to Texas.....
Can we stop with the "Baylor is good" talk, yet? Call me when these guys actually play a good team and come away with the win. How about you schedule tougher teams in your non-conference schedule so you are more prepared to play teams like Texas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State when it counts? Stop beating up cream puffs and start playing real teams Baylor. Then people will start taking you seriously. Until then, get out of here with that "Baylor is for real" talk. No one is buying that shit anymore.
Upsets Of The Week
(There are upsets every week in college football. These are the best upsets for this week)
-Texas Longhorns over Baylor Bears
For the second straight week, the Baylor Bears appear in the "Upset of the Week". Why? Because they suck and for some reason people think they are still a good football team. Can we drop that narrative yet? When you lose to a team like Texas, you have all sorts of problems. That's the main reason I'm still not buying the Oklahoma Sooners in the playoffs, but that's a story for a different day.

DeShaun Watson (QB) Clemson
