IT'S TIME............................................

NFL Round-Up

Week 13

The Scoreboard
(A recap of all the action from the past week in the NFL....)

*Due to time restraints, the Monday Night Football games are not included in The Scoreboard

Green Bay Packers (8-4): 27    Detroit Lions (4-8): 23

This game came down to one play and one play only. If you watched this game, it's obvious that the Detroit Lions are a better football team than the Green Bay Packers at the moment. I know. It sounds weird saying that, especially considering the Packers are 8-4 and one of the "best" teams in the NFC (record-wise at least) and the Lions are 4-8 and were such a dumpster fire a few weeks back that they were firing anyone who blinked incorrectly...but this is where we are at. Good football teams get better as the season goes on and it's obvious right now that the Packers are in A LOT of trouble going forward. Let's not sit around and act like the Packers are back in the mix of things just because of that ridiculous 60+ yard Hail Mary that Aaron Rodgers threw at the end of regulation. While that was one of the greatest plays in NFL history, it doesn't hide the obvious blemishes that are currently showing on this Packers team. Aaron Rodgers is only one man and he isn't getting help from anywhere. I never thought the Packers would miss Jordy Nelson as much as they have, but they do. Randall Cobb has been a huge disappointment this season. He's turned into a guy who just runs routes and gets absolutely no separation at all. That's what happens when guys get paid sometimes. They turn it off and go into "relaxation" mode. For the sake of the team's immediate future, Cobb needs to get his shit turned around and quick.

It's not everyday Rodgers can pull this off.....

New York Jets (7-5): 23      New York Giants (5-7): 20

Anyone outside of the state of New York care about this game?

Arizona Cardinals (10-2): 27    St. Louis Rams (4-8): 3

This one was never in doubt. The Arizona Cardinals are one of the best teams in the NFL and the St. Louis Rams are the complete opposite of that. Maybe the Rams will be bad enough this year that they will finally wise up and fire Jeff Fisher this off-season? With losses like this, it wouldn't shock me at all to see it happen. There was a time when the Rams (who are still a talented young team) were competitive, especially against other NFC West teams....but that time has apparently passed us. This team has quit on their coach and they have packed it in for the season. Would anyone really blame the Rams for cutting Fisher loose right now? I wouldn't. The Rams fan base has to be miserable right now and ready to jump off a cliff at any moment.

Atlanta Falcons (6-6): 19    Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-6): 23

Tampa Bay is hot right now. Atlanta? Not so much. The Bucs have no doubt found themselves a franchise quarterback in Jameis Winston. No matter what kind of boneheaded stuff that kid did in college, he's once again proven this year that he can ball out....regardless of where he's playing. I'm buying up all sorts of Buccaneers stock for the future. You people who are still holding on to your share of Falcons stock in hopes that the team that started out 5-0 miraculously shows up again at some point?

Seattle Seahawks (7-5): 38    Minnesota Vikings (8-4): 7

I don't know what happened to the Minnesota Vikings here, but I'm THIS close to jumping off the bandwagon. I'm not the kind of guy who usually over-reacts to things in the NFL, but this loss is an alarming one for me. The Vikings are one of those teams that are kind of a mystery to me. They look like they could be a great team, but I was still always a little hesitant to fully jump on the bandwagon because I wasn't sure how they would look going up against one of the NFL's "top dogs". Even though this is kind of a down year for the Seahawks, they are playing some of the best football right now and are starting to look like the team that has appeared in the Super Bowl the last two years. They are definitely one of the "top dogs" in the NFL right now and they man-handled the Vikings. Seattle is the kind of team that Minnesota is going to face if they end up making the playoffs. If this is the kind of play we are going to see from the Vikings come playoff time, teams like the Seahawks should have nothing to worry about.

I'm disappointed in you Minnesota. Go to your room and don't come out until I tell you to.

Houston Texans (6-6): 21    Buffalo Bills (6-6): 30

See. I told you guys not to buy into what the Houston Texans were doing. People were all ready to crown the Texans as "playoff contenders" because of one measly little four game win streak that included one big win over Cincinnati, a close win against the Jets, and two wins against teams that are currently nowhere near the playoff race.

Houston Texans a playoff team? Bye Felicia.

Baltimore Ravens (4-8): 13    Miami Dolphins (5-7): 15

Cincinnati Bengals (10-2): 37    Cleveland Browns (2-10): 3

Did you miss this beat down by the Cincinnati Bengals? If so, here's a quick recap.....

OK Cleveland. The season is over. There's no hope left for your franchise. It's time to throw Johnny Football to the fire and see what he can do so you can at least attempt to trade him in the off-season. At this point, what else is left to play for? If things keep heading in the direction they are heading in, I expect everyone to be fired. The Browns will once again be looking for a new head coach and unfortunately for them, there's no quarterback in this draft that looks like an immediate day one starter. God hates Cleveland. That much is true.

Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8): 39    Tennessee Titans (3-9): 42

No one should ever be forced to watch the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans play football. I'm even KIND of a Titans fan because of Marcus Mariota, and you would never catch me in front of my television watching the Jags and the Titans play when there is other football on. With that said, this was actually an entertaining game. Why? Because both teams refused to play defense and the combined score was near 100. Whenever that happens in the NFL, sign me up. Blake Bortles had a good week with his 5 TD's, but he wasn't the story of this game. Mariota was the story of this game. Not only did he look sharp and crisp in the passing game, but he showed off some of his rushing skills that helped him earn the Heisman trophy last year at Oregon as well. If there were any doubters that Mariota couldn't play in the NFL, those guys are shutting up. This kid is the real deal and if you don't believe us by now.....

San Francisco 49ers (4-8): 26    Chicago Bears (5-7): 20

What a weird day in the NFL. When we got Blaine Gabbert over here throwing 71-yard game winning touchdowns and finishing the day with 75 rushing yards and a TD, I just feel like all is lost in the world. This is the same Blaine Gabbert that was stinking up the joint in Jacksonville for 3 seasons, right? I mean....I don't even know right now......

Kansas City Chiefs (7-5): 34     Oakland Raiders (5-7): 20

The Chiefs have won 6 games in a row (the best in the AFC at the moment).

The Chiefs beat their dreaded rival the Oakland Raiders to earn that sixth straight win.

That has me all like.....

Sorry. Sometimes I have to let my inner-fanboy come out. It's good for the soul.

Denver Broncos (10-2): 17    San Diego Chargers (3-9): 3

The San Diego Chargers are garbage. Just plain and utter garbage. They should have just conceded this game instead of actually showing up to play the Broncos because everyone and their mother knew what the outcome was going to be. As for the Broncos? It seemed like it was just 3 weeks ago that everyone was ready to pile dirt on Denver's grave and stomp all over it. Now, the Broncos and new QB Brock Osweiler have rounded off three straight wins and everyone is ready to crown them the AFC Champion. Meanwhile, I'm over here like.....

Carolina Panthers (12-0): 41    New Orleans Saints (4-8): 38

Do I really have to talk about this game? Carolina's going undefeated and the Saints are going home in four weeks. Even though New Orleans came to fight, that's expected when you're playing an undefeated team. Carolina will get every other team's best shot this season, but that won't matter because they're still going undefeated.

Can you believe there are people out there who still doubt this team all because of stuff Cam Newton did years ago? Anyone who says Cam Newton hasn't been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season is either not watching the games or is just a complete dumbass troll. You'd better be buying this team or they are going to make you regret it in the end.

Philadelphia Eagles (5-7): 35    New England Patriots (10-2): 28

About all this "Chip Kelly is a horrible coach and should be fired talk?"....

All this man does is win, even against the best in the game (suck it Belichick). Don't look now, but these same Eagles who were dead in the water just a week ago, all of a sudden have some life to them and are officially back in the division race. What do you think about that Tom?

Oh. Shut up.

Indianapolis Colts (6-6): 10     Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5): 45

When Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown are playing like they played against the Colts on Sunday night....I don't think there's a team in the NFL that can beat them. Seriously. When "Big Ben" is in the zone, magical things happen in Steeler-land and this beat down of the Colts was evidence number one.

Can we stop with the "Matt Hasselbeck needs to be the starter for the rest of the year?" crap yet? If Andrew Luck was in this game throwing dimes all over the field, it would've been a lot closer than 10-45. The Colts need their franchise QB back. Let's stop with the Hasselbeck stuff. JUST STOP!
