NFL Round-Up: Conference Championship Weekend

The conference championships are officially over with and the arrow is FINALLY pointing at the SUPER BOWL!

BBQ. Beer. Football. Friends. Family. & "sometimes" funny commercials. Ya, I can't wait.

Before that though.....

Sit back........

Grab a beer............

Put the kids outside...........

Tell the wife to leave you alone.........

IT'S TIME............................................

NFL Round-Up

Conference Championship Weekend

The Scoreboard
(A recap of all the action from the past week in the NFL....)

New England Patriots (13-5): 18    Denver Broncos (14-4): 20

When playoff time comes, all we can really ask for is to have fantastic football games and that's exactly what we got with the AFC Championship. Regardless of how you feel about either one of these teams (neither one is the most popular around my household, that's for sure), they came to play today and gave us exactly what we wanted....three hours of entertaining football. I'm not going to go into too much detail because whenever the Denver Broncos win the AFC Championship and make another appearance in the Super Bowl, it's got me feeling like this....

Props to the Broncos and their "Championship caliber defense" though. They obviously knew exactly what it takes to take out the reigning Super Bowl champions and now Peyton Manning and the boys are one win away from potentially sending Manning out on top. Once again....

Sorry for all the vomiting, but like I said. It's been a rough couple of hours around my house. Anyway, it's no secret that the Broncos need to win the Super Bowl, because it's potentially the last time we will be seeing them in the big game for awhile after this season. With a ton of free agents looming and the possibility of a lot of their good players putting on different uniforms next season, it's ALL OR NOTHING in Denver right now. Last time we saw the Broncos in the Super Bowl, they got absolutely stomped by the Seattle Seahawks. Will we have an encore of that or is it finally time for Peyton to get his ring in the Mile High City? Oh god. I really have to stop doing that to myself.....

Arizona Cardinals (14-4): 15     Carolina Panthers (17-1): 49

Ass whooping. That's what this was. The Panthers had the Cardinals number from the beginning and never looked back. And what a little bit of redemption it was for Carolina to. All season long, all the Panthers have done is won football games and all people have done is try to hammer them down by saying they are frauds. Well, these "frauds" are now just one win away from the franchise's first ever Super Bowl win.

The Panthers are not only searching for the franchise's first Super Bowl win, but I personally consider them the heavy favorites to win the whole thing. Does anyone really think Peyton Manning and that Denver offense is going to be able to move the ball and score on this Panthers defense? Denver's defense is what has made them this year and they are going to have to do a phenomenal job in the Super Bowl if the Donkies want to even stand a chance against the Panthers.

Carolina has opened as a -4.5 favorite in the Super Bowl and I'm telling you to take that bet all the way to the bank. You'll be thanking me when you are able to take the wife and kids on a nice summer vacation in six months.

GO PANTHERS!
