Team Analysis: The Seattle Seahawks finally did it last year. They were finally able to get over that hump and win the franchise's first ever Super Bowl and were able to bring a championship to the lovely Pacific Northwest. The Seahawks were able to achieve that dream by playing football the old-fashioned way. By being more physical than the other team. Offensively, the Seahawks are nothing to jump out of your shoes for. Russell Wilson is a good quarterback, but he's not an elite guy and I highly doubt that he ever gets to that level. That's fine though because as he's already shown, the guy will win you football games in this league and he's perfectly capable of playing under pressure. It also helps that he has Marshawn Lynch running the ball for him as I feel as though a lot of people drastically underestimate how important it is to have a good running game in the NFL. Lynch almost made a stupid mistake and held out during training camp, but he quickly wised up knowing that the end result would probably end up with him being cut. When you're a veteran on a team that's as loaded as Seattle is, you just can't do things like Lynch did because when it comes time to trim roster's down to a 53-man team....his name would probably be one of those going "bye bye".

All the talk about the Seahawks isn't their offense though. It's the defensive unit that's got everyone excited to see this team try to win consecutive Super Bowl's. "The Legion of Boom" is arguably the best overall unit in the NFL. The combination of Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Earl Thomas is just downright not fair at times. While Sherman is the guy who get's all the press with this unit, it's really Chancellor and Thomas who are the guy's that make it REALLY scary. Seattle's defense isn't all about it's secondary though. They really don't have a guy that I would rank as "average" anywhere on the defense and they have 4 guys that I would consider to be "high quality" starters and 3 guys that are pretty much irreplaceable at their position. This defense has a chance to be even better than last year and if that doesn't get NFL offensive coordinator's shaking in their boots, I don't know what will.

The good news for Seahawks fans is, they have a legit shot at repeating as Super Bowl champions. The roster is still absolutely stacked and if it wasn't for a certain other team in the NFC West, there's a good chance I would have the Seahawks repeating as Super Bowl champions myself. The bad news for Seahawks fans is, a lot of the elite guys on the roster finally got paid this off-season and with other guys like Russell Wilson due for a pretty significant raise, the 'Hawks are going to have to make some difficult decisions regarding their roster soon. Don't be surprised if you see some good talent walk away from Seattle because the guys in the office know what kind of decisions lay ahead. Either way, enjoy the ride while it lasts becuase it wouldn't shock this guy to see Seattle bring another Super Bowl to the Pacific Northwest.
