NFL Sunday Round-Up: Week 9

You guys feel that? It feels like a "good news/bad news" kind of week here at the Ultimate Football Blog. Who doesn't love them some positive feelings mixed with a little bit of cynicism?

Ok then.....

New Orleans - 28 (4-4) @ Carolina - 10 (3-5-1)

Good News for Saints:You are officially back in first place in the NFC South! Ahhh, it's like you never left! Things are finally starting to get normal around here.....

Bad News for Saints: It's the NFC South. It's not that good. This team still really worries me, especially come playoff time. Let's just say I have zero faith in the Saints.

Good News for Carolina: You're only one game out of first place in the hideous NFC South.

Bad News for Carolina: You just don't look like a good football team right now. It's also not a coincidence that Cam Newton has looked like crap in this little losing streak you have going on.

New Orleans Offensive MVP: Mark Ingram (30 carries, 100 yards, 2 TD's)

New Orleans Defensive MVP: Junior Galette (4 tackles, 2 sacks)

Carolina Offensive MVP: Cam Newton (10 of 28 for 151 yards, 0 TD's, 1 INT, 7 carries, 43 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 39.4 QB rating)

Carolina Defensive MVP: Dwan Edwards (2 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss, 1 interception)

Up next for New Orleans: vs. San Francisco (4-4)

Up next for Carolina: vs. @ Philadelphia (6-2)

New York Jets - 10 (1-8) @ Kansas City - 24 (5-3)

Good News for Jets:

This guy might available in the 2015 NFL Draft when it's time for your selection.

Bad News for Jets: Until that time, Michael Vick and Geno Smith are still the quarterbacks of your football team.

Good News for Chiefs: Since that loss to the Titans in week one, you've been playing football like you're one of the best teams in the NFL. It's been a huge surprise to me, but I like what I'm seeing on both offense and defense. I wonder how many people realize that Chiefs LB Justin Houston is on pace to set the single-season sack record?

Bad News for Chiefs: The remaining schedule is still a little bit difficult (games against Denver, Arizona, Seattle, and Pittsburgh still remain), so the playoffs are far from a lock.

NY Jets Offensive MVP: Percy Harvin (11 catches, 129 yards)

NY Jets Defensive MVP: Muhammad Wilkerson (4 tackles, 2 tackles for loss)

Kansas City Offensive MVP: Alex Smith (21 of 31 for 199 yards, 2 TD's, 106.8 QB rating)

Kansas City Defensive MVP: Justin Houston (4 tackles, 2 sacks)

Up next for NY Jets: vs. Pittsburgh

Up next for Kansas City: vs. @ Buffalo (5-3)

Tampa Bay - 17 (1-7) @ Cleveland - 22 (5-3)

Good News for Bucs:

This guy might be available in the 2015 NFL Draft when it's time for your selection.

Bad News for Bucs: Where do I start?

Good News for Browns: You're 5-3. A bad 5-3, but you're 5-3 and as of right now, have a 67% chance of making the playoffs. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Bad News for Browns: If you do make the playoffs, what do you think you're chances would be against teams like the Broncos, Patriots, Colts, Chiefs, etc? I'd say "not very good".

Tampa Bay Offensive MVP: Mike Evans (7 catches, 124 yards, 2 TD's)

Tampa Bay Defensive MVP: Major Wright (13 tackles, 1 tackle for loss)

Cleveland Offensive MVP: Taylor Gabriel (5 catches, 87 yards, 1 TD)

Cleveland Defensive MVP: Donte Whitner (8 tackles, 1 interception)

Up next for Tampa Bay: vs. Atlanta (2-6)

Up next for Cleveland: vs. @ Cincinnati (5-2-1)

Arizona - 28 (7-1) @ Dallas - 17 (6-3)

Good News for Cardinals: You're the best team in the NFC and look like Super Bowl contenders. Once again, I don't know exactly how you're doing it, but I don't question things when they appear to be working.

Bad News for Cardinals: The Cardinals still have 5 games left against potential playoff teams and divisional opponents, so the schedule gets a little rougher. Right now, Arizona is in the driver's seat to get the first overall seed in the NFC, but that is far from a lock with the schedule they have left to play.

Good News for Cowboys: It doesn't appear as though Tony Romo will miss any significant time (at least those are the rumors at the moment), so there's always that to get you through the next week. Did you honestly think we'd ever see a time where Cowboys fans would be praying for the return of Tony Romo? That's the Brandon Weeden effect at it's finest folks.

Bad News for Cowboys: You're finally coming back down to Earth after the hot start you endured at the beginning of the season. You'd better pray that Romo's injury is nothing big because if it is, Dallas' playoff chances will take a huge hit.

Arizona Offensive MVP: Andre Ellington (21 carries, 95 rushing yards, 4 catches, 39 receiving yards, 1 TD)

Arizona Defensive MVP: Tyrann Mathieu (5 tackles, 1 interception)

Dallas Offensive MVP: DeMarco Murray (19 carries, 79 rushing yards)

Dallas Defensive MVP: Anthony Hitchens (8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 QB hit)

Up next for Arizona: vs. St. Louis (3-5)

Up next for Dallas: vs. Jacksonville (1-8)

Philadelphia - 31 (6-2) @ Houston - 21 (4-5)

Good News for Eagles: Nick Foles was knocked out of the game with an injury and Mark Sanchez had to step-in. Usually that doesn't sound like good news, but Sanchez actually led the Eagles to a win! Now, he looked like the Sanchez of old (couple highlight throws and lots of bonehead mistakes), but he got the win and that's ultimately all that matters.

Bad News for Eagles: If Foles misses any significant amount of time (and it sounds like he might), Sanchez is going to have to step-in on a permanent basis and let's not kid ourselves....that's a scary thing. This could end up costing the Eagles a lot in the long run.

Good News for Texans: You look and smell like an 8-8 team. I guess that can get some people excited? You're also expected to get Jadeveon Clowney back soon so we can really see what this defense can do.

Bad News for Texans:

This guy will probably not be available when you draft in the 2015 NFL Draft because you look and smell like an 8-8 team.

Philadelphia Offensive MVP: Jeremy Maclin (6 catches, 158 yards, 2 TD's)

Philadelphia Defensive MVP: DeMeco Ryans (6 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception)

Houston Offensive MVP: Arian Foster (15 carries, 56 rushing yards, 2 catches, 63 receiving yards, 1 TD)

Houston Defensive MVP: Jumal Rolle (2 tackles, 2 interceptions)

Up next for Philadelphia: vs. Carolina (3-5-1)

Up next for Houston: BYE WEEK

Jacksonville - 23 (1-8) @ Cincinnati - 33 (5-2-1)

Good News for Jaguars: You got...

Well he's not b.....

Those guys look alr.....

I got nothing.

Bad News for Jaguars: You are the Jaguars. I don't want to rub it in.

Good News for Bengals: You seem to finally have got the ship turned around again and the future looks bright once more in Cincinnati. When the Bengals win like this, Steve Cook be like:

Bad News for Bengals: Out of the eight remaining teams left on your schedule, six of them currently have winning records. Good luck with that one.

Jacksonville Offensive MVP: Allen Hurns (7 catches, 112 yards, 2 TD's)

Jacksonville Defensive MVP: J.T. Thomas (8 tackles, 2 passes deflected, 1 interception)

Cincinnati Offensive MVP: Jeremy Hill (24 carries, 154 yards, 2 TD's)

Cincinnati Defensive MVP: George Iloka (5 tackles, 2 passes deflected, 1 interception)

Up next for Jacksonville: vs. Dallas (6-3)

Up next for Cincinnati: vs. Cleveland (5-3)

San Diego - 0 (5-4) @ Miami - 37 (5-3)

Good News for Chargers: You never win when you play in Miami, so I didn't expect you to win anyway. That's got to be a slice of good news, right? I'm still not off your bandwagon quite yet, but lose one more time and I'm out.

Bad News for Chargers: You got shut out by the Dolphins. That's completely unacceptable, especially when you have one of the best quarterbacks in the league on your roster. Get it together Chargers!

Good News for Dolphins: You shut out a legit playoff team at home and currently sit at 5-3 on the season. Not too shabby if I may say so myself.

Bad News for Dolphins: The Patriots are absolute beasts right now, so it's looking like you are going to have to grab a wildcard if you want to make the playoffs. The only problem with that is, there are about 4-5 teams that are better than you that are also looking to grab a wildcard spot. Life's a real bitch sometimes.

San Diego Offensive MVP: No one. No one is the MVP on offense when you get shut out.

San Diego Defensive MVP: Donald Butler (8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss)

Miami Offensive MVP: Ryan Tannehill (24 of 34 for 288 yards, 3 TD's, 4 carries, 47 rushing yards, 125.6 QB rating)

Miami Defensive MVP: Brent Grimes (3 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 interceptions)

Up next for San Diego: BYE WEEK

Up next for Miami: vs. @ Detroit (6-2)

Washington - 26 (3-6) @ Minnesota - 29 (4-5)

Washington Offensive MVP: Alfred Morris (19 carries, 92 yards, 2 TD's)

Washington Defensive MVP: Bashaud Breeland (5 tackles, 2 passes deflected)

Minnesota Offensive MVP: Teddy Bridgewater (26 of 42 for 268 yards, 1 TD, 3 carries, 20 rushing yards, 88.2 QB rating)

Minnesota Defensive MVP: Everson Griffen (6 tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss, 3 QB hits)

Up next for Washington: BYE WEEK

Up next for Minnesota: BYE WEEK

St. Louis - 13 (3-5) @ San Francisco - 10 (4-4)

Good News for Rams: You beat a divisional rival at home! If you can't find any good news in that, then your expectations have been set way too high.

Bad News for Rams: The best team in the NFL is waiting for you in Arizona next week. Something tells me you guys can't work magic two weeks in a row.....

Good News for 49ers: The 49ers are the ultimate "hot/cold" team right now in the NFL. One week they look "hot" and the next week, they look "cold". The good news here is, next week...they should look hot again. Hear that Saints? They're coming for you.

Bad News for 49ers: How the hell do you lose to the Rams? C'mon man.

St. Louis Offensive MVP: Tre Mason (19 carries, 65 rushing yards)

St. Louis Defensive MVP: Robert Quinn (4 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 pass deflection)

San Francisco Offensive MVP: Anquan Boldin (6 catches, 93 yards, 1 TD)

San Francisco Defensive MVP: Chris Borland (18 tackles, 3 tackles for loss)

Up next for St. Louis: vs. @ Arizona (7-1)

Up next for San Francisco: vs. @ New Orleans (4-4)

Denver - 21 (6-2) @ New England - 43 (7-2)

Good News for Broncos: You're still in first place in the AFC West and still have one of the best quarterbacks in the game. New England is always a tough place to play. All you have to do now is win out, make the playoffs and avoid a return trip to New England. Sounds like a pretty simple plan, right?

Bad News for Broncos: The Patriots put a beat-down on you today. Hang your heads in shame until next week when you get to go into Oakland and put a beat-down on the Raiders.

Good News for Patriots: Ever since the Chiefs put a whooping on you, you have come alive and have overtaken the Broncos as the current "Kings of the AFC". I've always said that sometimes in life you just need a beating to put things into perspective and that's what Kansas City did to New England a month ago. The Patriots should send the Chiefs a gift basket.

Bad News for Patriots: You probably just pissed off the Broncos and there's a good chance you're going to see them again in the playoffs. Sometimes it's just not a good idea to poke the bear. The bear can bite.....

Denver Offensive MVP: Emmanuel Sanders (10 catches, 151 yards)

Denver Defensive MVP: T.J. Ward (8 tackles)

New England Offensive MVP: Rob Gronkowski (9 catches, 105 yards, 1 TD)

New England Defensive MVP: Jamie Collins (11 tackles, 1 tackle for loss)

Up next for Denver: vs. @ Oakland (0-8)

Up next for New England: BYE WEEK

Oakland - 24 (0-8) @ Seattle- 30 (5-3)

Good News for Raiders: You have nice jerseys.

Bad News for Raiders: You're still 0-8 and there seriously isn't a winnable game left on your schedule. Things should really start blowing up anytime now....

Good News for Seahawks: I told everyone to settle down back when everyone was selling their Seahawks stock. I said the Super Bowl champs were going to be fine and they look that way so far.

Bad News for Seahawks: Your defense doesn't look as good as it used to (giving up 24 to Oakland at home isn't a good look for anyone) and there is still plenty of reasons to be worried about this team going forward.

Oakland Offensive MVP: Mychal Rivera (8 catches, 38 yards, 2 TD's)

Oakland Defensive MVP: Sio Moore (11 tackles, 1 sack)

Seattle Offensive MVP: Marshawn Lynch (21 carries, 67 rushing yards, 5 receptions, 76 receiving yards, 2 TD's)

Seattle Defensive MVP: Bruce Irvin (3 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception, 1 TD)

Up next for Oakland: vs. Denver (6-2)

Up next for Seattle: vs. New York Giants (3-4)
