YES?!?!?!?!?!?!

OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LET'S GET READY TO FUMMMMMBBBBBBLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEE...............

Top 25 Scoreboard:
(A recap of all the action involving the top 25 teams in college football)

(1) Ohio State (0-0): 0    Virginia Tech (0-0): 0

Game is played on Monday, September 7.

(2) TCU (1-0): 25     Minnesota (0-1): 17

Ya, TCU didn't exactly look like "world beaters" here against Minnesota. A lot of experts have TCU going to the CFB playoffs this year (myself included) and if TCU does expect to make the playoffs, they need to play better than they did here. Minnesota is a good little team, but they are far from a team that should be giving an elite team a challenge.

(3) Alabama (1-0): 35:    (20) Wisconsin (0-1): 17

Alabama did what Alabama's going to do. This off-season there were all sorts of questions surrounding Alabama's QB position, but I think Jake Coker and Cooper Bateman played well together as a unit against the Badgers. Alabama is still my pick to win the SEC and this win over Wisconsin made me feel a whole lot better about that pick.

(4) Baylor (1-0): 56    SMU (0-1): 21

As of right now, Baylor looks like the team to beat in the BIG-12, but that can change on a weekly basis. Baylor did what Baylor does to lesser teams (score a lot of points) and Art Briles and company continue to be one of the most exciting teams to watch in college football. On the other hand, watch out for SMU this year. They will be better than people think.

(5) Michigan State (1-0): 37    Western Michigan (0-1): 24

If I'm a Michigan State fan, I'm a little worried about the Oregon Ducks next weekend if they play like they did this weekend. The Spartans used a big first quarter to defeat Western Michigan and then kind of took the foot off the pedal. If they do that next weekend against the Ducks, Oregon's going to make them pay like they did last year down in Eugene. Good lord I can't wait for that football game.

(6) Auburn (1-0): 31    Louisville (0-1): 24

The Louisville Cardinals sure put up a good fight against an Auburn team that many college football experts have pegged as a National Championship contender. While things definitely didn't start out pretty for Louisville, Bobby Petrino and company were able to rally in the fourth quarter and make things a little interesting towards the end. Both team should feel good about themselves following this game.

(7) Oregon (1-0): 61    Eastern Washington (-): 42

How could the Oregon Ducks replace the best player in team history? Everyone said it would be impossible. Well, after just one game, Eastern Washington transfer Vernon Adams has many Duck fans feeling good about this team. The offense was rolling in this game, but the defense needs to improve. EWU is a VERY good offensive team, and they gave Oregon some fits, especially in the passing game. Oregon needs to improve their defensive play if they are eyeing a return to the CFP.

(8) USC (1-0): 55    Arkansas State Red Wolves (0-1): 6

USC looked like one of the best teams in college football yesterday. The Trojans are so much more talented than a team like Arkansas State and they needed to come out and wipe the floor with them. That's exactly what they did. It wasn't a great weekend for the PAC-12 overall, but it was a great weekend for USC.

(9) Georgia (1-0): 51    Louisiana-Monroe (0-1): 14

Read what I just wrote about USC, and replace "USC" with "Georgia".

(10) Florida State (1-0): 59    Texas State (0-1): 16

Read what I just wrote about Georgia and replace "Georgia" with "Florida State".

(11) Notre Dame (1-0): 38    Texas (0-1): 3

You may not be aware of this, but I absolutely love Notre Dame this year. First of all, I'm one of the biggest anti-Notre Dame guys on the planet, but I can admit when a team is stacked and the Fighting Irish are STACKED. There are tons of NFL players on this team and Notre Dame showed the world that they are indeed playoff contenders with this dismantling of the pathetic Texas Longhorns. Watch out for the Irish this year.

(12) Clemson (1-0): 49    Wofford (-): 10

I'm not as high on Clemson as some other people, but they looked damn good here. Maybe I've been under-estimating the power of Deshaun Watson all along?

(13) UCLA (1-0): 34    Virginia (0-1): 16

UCLA was my pick to win the PAC-12 this year and make the College Football Playoff. A lot of people called me stupid for putting all my chips behind a team that's playing with a true freshman QB, but after yesterday's game....I'm feeling pretty good about this pick. Josh Rosen looked like a stud against the Cavaliers and the Bruins are absolutely loaded. PAC-12 title or bust this year for Jim Mora and company.

(14) LSU (0-0): 0    McNeese State (-): 0

Game was cancelled due to weather.

(15) Arizona State (0-1): 17    Texas A&M (1-0): 38

A lot of people were high on Arizona State this season, but I wasn't one of them. I saw some people peg the Sun Devils as potential PAC-12 champs and it confused me. Was I missing something with Arizona State? Apparently not. Texas A&M came out and whooped them, even throwing true freshman Kyler Murray to the wolves at one point (kid looked pretty good). Is ASU this bad or is Texas A&M better than everyone gave them credit for? Stay tuned.

(16) Georgia Tech (1-0): 69    Alcorn State (-): 6

Georgia Tech = good. Alcorn State = not good.

(17) Ole Miss (1-0): 76    Tennessee-Martin (-): 3

Ole Miss = good. Tennessee-Martin = not good.

(18) Arkansas (1-0): 48    UTEP (0-1): 13

Arkansas is a fun team to watch. They are a team that no one is really talking about in the SEC West, but they are VERY capable of surprising some people and winning the division. UTEP isn't as bad as they've been in past seasons and Arkansas came out and manhandled them. If I'm a Razorback fan, I'm feeling pretty good about where my team is at today.

(19) Oklahoma (1-0): 41    Akron (0-1): 3

I thought Akron would put up a tough little scrap against Oklahoma. Apparently I was WAY off. Is this Oklahoma team playing with a chip on their shoulder? After hearing about TCU and Baylor being the "Kings of the BIG 12" these last two seasons, are the Sooners sick of the talk and are looking to reclaim their throne? Watch out for the Sooners this year. They might be better than we think.

(21) Stanford (0-1): 6    Northwestern (1-0): 16

What a disappointing opener for Stanford. I had Stanford pegged as the team to win the PAC-12 North (and lose to UCLA in the title game) and I'm regretting that decision after watching this game. Stanford looked AWFUL against Northwestern. For some reason, the Cardinals have forgotten how to run the football the last two years (the heart and soul of their offense) and when you are relying on Kevin Hogan to win you football games....it's going to be a long day. I don't know if Stanford can get this thing turned around or if Stanford football is getting ready to go back to where it was before the Jim Harbaugh days. In the gutter.

(22) Arizona (1-0): 42    Texas-San Antonio (0-1): 32

This game was probably a little closer than Rich Rodriguez and his guys wanted it to be, but they were still able to squeak out the win. I don't think Arizona is as good as they were last season so I'm sure they'll take every win they can get.

(23) Boise State (1-0): 16    Washington (0-1): 13

Chris Petersen's return to Boise State was almost a good one for him and the Huskies, unfortunately they just got the offense going a little too late. Meanwhile, Boise State is a team that could make the playoffs this season if they run the table and a close win over Washington is a good start.

(24) Missouri (1-0): 34    Southeast Missouri State (-): 3

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaawn.

(25) Tennessee (1-0): 59    Bowling Green (0-1): 30

Tennessee is my sleeper pick to come out of the SEC. I feel even more comfortable about the Volunteers finally turning their program around after this win over Bowling Green. Now, I know. Beating a MAC team doesn't exactly mean you are a "world beater" by any means, but it's a start for Tennessee.

Upsets Of The Week
(There are upsets every week in college football. These are the best upsets for this week)

-Portland State Vikings defeat Washington State Cougars

The Portland State Vikings earned their first win over a PAC-12 school by defeating the lowly Washington State Cougars. What a great win for Portland State and what a way to "Coug it" once again by Wazzu. Mike Leach is officially on the hot seat in Pullman and if he can't get this turned around quickly, it's going to be a loooooooooooong season for WSU.

-BYU Cougars defeat Nebraska Cornhuskers

Not the idle start for Mike Riley at his new job. It's one thing to get beat by a team that you're better than. It's another thing to get beat by a hail mary pass at the end of the game. When that happens....

-Temple Owls defeat Penn State Nittany Lions

This was supposed to be the start of a new era for Penn State. After years of living in the land of "NCAA sanctions", the Nittany Lions finally pulled their wagons free and looked to start building Penn State back up from the bottom under new head coach James Franklin. Well, the Nittany Lions just lost to Temple for the first time in 74 years. Is Penn State really this bad or is Temple just better than everyone thinks? I'm here to tell you that Temple is better than everyone thinks. This is a legit bowl team. Watch.
