So, with that said, I think it's time to take a look at the ONE unrestricted free agent that every single NFL team would sign if they could.
Who's the one free agent that could turn your favorite NFL team's fortunes around next year?
Von Miller?
Josh Norman?
Kirk Cousins?
Doug Martin?
Alshon Jeffery?
Only one way to find out......
NFC East
Dallas Cowboys - Josh Norman (CB)
Dallas is one of those teams that could go numerous ways here. They need a pass rusher, a cornerback, and someone who can potentially fill-in when Romo goes down. However, I'm going with corner here because that's arguably Dallas' biggest weakness. Morris Claiborne is a free agent and the Cowboys will likely let the disappointing former first-round pick walk. Brandon Carr is in the last year of his contract, but he's also been disappointing since arriving in Dallas. The addition of Norman to go along with the returning Orlando Scandrick would give Cowboys' fans something to get excited for in the secondary.
New York Giants - Von Miller (OLB)
The Giants need a pass rusher. Von Miller is one of the best pass rushers (if not THE best) in the NFL. Somethings are just meant to be.
Philadelphia Eagles - Alshon Jeffery (WR)
Who's going to be QB for the Eagles next year? No one knows. Are the Eagles going to bring Sam Bradford back? It's a possibility, but if they do....why not give him a huge target to throw to? Jeffery was one of the best WR's in the league before injuries took it's toll on him last season. Something tells me he's going to have a huge year in 2016 and the Eagles need wide receiver help in the worst possible way. Fly Eagles Fly? Only if you get Jeffery.
Washington Redskins - Muhammad Wilkerson (DE)
The Redskins have some questions regarding their defensive line heading into the off-season. They face the realistic possibility of Jason Hatcher retiring and Terrance Knighton leaving in free agency and if that happens, they'll have a huge hole on the defensive line. Muhammad Wilkerson solves that problem the minute the ink from his pen touches the contract.
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals - Von Miller (OLB)
The Cardinals need a really good pass rusher to help shore up their already scary defense. The addition of Von Miller on this team would be enough to scare NFL offenses everywhere. The Cardinals were just a game away from being in the Super Bowl this year. Miller helps them get there next year.
San Francisco 49ers - Kirk Cousins (QB)
Forget the whole "Does Chip Kelly like Colin Kaepernick or Blaine Gabbert more?" argument. Let's put that argument to bed and give Chipper his best QB since he entered the NFL over three years ago. Kelly has already tasted success in the NFL with lackluster QBs. Kirk Cousins showed us this year that he could lead a team into the playoffs and if you put him with a the "QB whisperer" that is Chip....good things could potentially happen. If Chip Kelly could turn Mark Sanchez and Nic Foles into "good" starting NFL QBs. Imagine what he could do with Kirkers.
Seattle Seahawks - Cordy Glenn (OT)
Seattle's offensive line is garbage and with Russell Okung likely to hit free agency and leave the team, it's evident that the offensive line is the biggest area of need. Trading Max Unger last year was stupid and it bit Seattle in the ass this year. The addition of Cordy Glenn helps everyone, especially Russell Wilson.
St. Louis Rams - Kirk Cousins (QB)
The Rams haven't had a franchise QB since Kurt Warner quit bagging groceries and joined them years and years ago. If the Rams aren't scouting the local grocery stores for someone to help turn their franchise around, than they need to go after the #1 free agent prospect and that would be Kirk Cousins. YOU LIKE THAT RAMS FANS? Yes. Yes you do.
NFC North
Chicago Bears - Von Miller (OLB)
Chicago needs pass rushing help in the worst way. They were one of the worst teams in the league when it came to disrupting the other team's QB, but Von Miller solves that problem right away.
Detroit Lions - Alshon Jeffery (WR)
Calvin Johnson's sudden retirement in the off-season opens up a huge hole for Detroit as far as having a #1 wide receiver is concerned. Something tells me that Lions fans would be more than happy to steal Alshon Jeffery from one of their rivals to help ease the pain from the loss of "Megatron". Not only would Lions fans be happy, but Matthew Stafford would also likely be grinning from ear-to-ear.
Green Bay Packers - Alshon Jeffery (WR)
Green Bay fans just saw what happens this season when they don't really have a true #1 WR. Their passing offense takes a huge hit. I never thought the Jordy Nelson injury would be a huge deal for the Packers, but it was. Without Nelson this season, the Packers lacked a true #1 as the rest of the guys on the roster were just much too inconsistent. Picking up Jeffery to go along with the returning Jordy Nelson (see you later Randall Cobb) would immediately make Green Bay a favorite to go to the Super Bowl next year.
Minnesota Vikings - Cordy Glenn (OT)
Minnesota is one of those rosters that's pretty well constructed and doesn't have a whole lot of weaknesses. However, they do need some help on the offensive line. Minnesota needs to provide their young QB with some protection and considering Teddy Bridgewater holds the ball longer than most NFL QB's do....a franchise left tackle is a MUST.
NFC South
Atlanta Falcons - Von Miller (OLB)
Defense. That's where Atlanta's focus should be this off-season. With Matt Ryan, Devonta Freeman, and Julio Jones on offense, it's time the Falcons got playmakers like that on the other side of the ball. Bringing in arguably the best defensive player in the league helps solve that problem almost immediately and likely turns the Falcons into a real threat next year.
Carolina Panthers - Muhammad Wilkerson (DE)
Adding one of the best defensive ends in the league to an already scary unit? Yikes.
New Orleans Saints - Von Miller (OLB)
The Saints were one of the worst teams on the defensive side of the ball last season. They fired their defensive coordinator halfway through the season and they have A LOT of holes on that side of the ball. One of the holes they happen to have is outside linebacker. New Orleans is a complete dumpster fire on defense, and even though the addition of Miller wouldn't exactly put the fire out....he would help turn a 5-alarm fire into a camp fire at least. Small steps people. Small steps.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Muhammad Wilkerson (DE)
Defense is the plan this off-season in Tampa Bay. With Jameis Winston, Mike Evans, & Doug Martin running things on the offensive side of the ball with new head coach Dirk Koetter...that side is fine. It's the defense that needs help and that starts with a pass rushing defensive end. Remember the last time the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl? They did it on the back of their defense and they should look to repeat that formula next season.
