NFL Draft 2015 LIVE Instant Analysis

It's officially draft time people! Are you as excited as myself? Well, you should be. I'm so caught up in the Marcus Mariota news that I haven't let my cell phone leave my side for one second.

Where's he going to go? Tennessee? Philadelphia? Chicago? San Diego? New Orleans? Cleveland? That seems to be the big question of the hour and we are set to get the answers to that question (and many more) in just a little while.

Anyway, I created this thread to give people instant analysis of every single pick made in tonight's draft as soon as they happen. So, make sure you keep this tab up and keep re-loading and I will keep pumping out the goods as they come in.

Sometimes I'm too nice to you people.....

NFL DRAFT 2015 LIVE INSTANT ANALYSIS

*Top 20 player rankings are found at the bottom of this column......

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston - QB, Florida State

Great pick for the Bucs. Winston is the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck and as long as he has his stuff together, he should end up being a solid NFL QB. The Bucs haven't had that in along time so they should be happy with this pick. Just cross your fingers that this kid matures....quickly.

Top 5 Best Still Available:

1. Leonard Williams (DE, USC)
2. Dante Fowler (EDGE, Florida)
3. Amari Cooper (WR, Alabama)
4. Kevin White (WR, West Virginia)
5. Marcus Mariota (QB, Oregon)

The FINAL NFL Mock Draft!

The NFL Draft is literally just days away. I'm so excited, that I just can't hide it. That means we are finally coming to an end with the mock drafts on the Ultimate Football Blog (insert sad face). However, before we call it a day for good on the mock drafts....we have to have ONE FINAL ONE!

This is my final version that you need to print out, laminate, and hand out to all your friends so they are in the know on draft night. This mock draft is made up using all sorts of different sources. I follow numerous writers on Twitter who are constantly spewing out NFL rumors and the such. I've also read numerous mock drafts and compiled a variety of different experts' opinions and tried to mold them into one. It's a tough task, but someone's gotta do it....so why not me?

Before we get onto the mock though, here's a quick guide to keep you informed with how I laid this one out for you guys......

The Casual Fans Guide to the NFL Draft

My good buddy Jeremy Lambert is back from his vacation just in time to bless us with the Casual Fans Guide to the NFL Draft. The draft is just a little over 24 hours away, so make sure you study this and are ready for tomorrow night's spectacle......

The NFL Draft is just a day away. You’ve probably read a million mock drafts and you’re going to read a million more between now and Thursday although if you want to save time, you could just read the mock drafts posted by Dustin James and Todd Bergman on this site because they are the most insightful and accurate.

Or you could stop pretending that you know and care about something that takes three days to complete and involves no actual football action.

Without further ado, here is the Casual Fans Guide to the NFL Draft:

*The Marcus Mariota Saga: The Oregon Ducks QB and Hiesman Trophy Winner will be selected anywhere from first to fifteenth by any number of teams. The big question is whether or not the Eagles will be that team. The truth is, no one knows where Mariota will be playing next year. It might be the Titans. It might be the Bucs. It might be the Eagles. It might be the Jets. It might be the CFL. No one truly knows. What we do know is that either the Titans will likely select him at #2 or trade that pick for a haul similar to what the Rams got from the Redskins when they wanted to move up to select Robert Griffin III.

*The First Overall Pick: Unless of course the Tampa Bay Buccaneers aren’t sold on Jameis Winston due to his off the field issues and decide that they’re going to take Mariota or trade the top pick for an even bigger haul than what the Titans would receive. It’s most likely that the Bucs end up taking Winston since he went to Florida St. and the Bucs not only need a quarterback, but they need a star who can help fill the stadium.

*A Potential Philip Rivers Deal: A lot of people think Rivers is a top 10 quarterback even though he’s on the downside of his career and is 4-5 in the playoffs. Tennessee seems to be the rumored destination, which would really suck for him because they have no offense to speak of. I don’t know if Rivers will be dealt and it probably won’t matter since he isn’t leading any team to a Super Bowl, but he’s a high profile quarterback, which means he matters more than most players in the league.

*Gordon or Gurley: Running backs in the NFL have become less important over the years but are still pretty important. Except at the NFL Draft. There were no running backs taken in the first round in 2014 or 2013. There were three taken in 2012; Trent Richardson (sucks), Doug Martin (seems to suck), and David Wilson (retired). The last productive running back (Three straight 800+ yard seasons) to go in the first round were 2008 draftees Rashard Mendenhall (now retired) and Chris Johnson (might now suck). Two running backs, Melvin Gordon and Todd Gurley, could both go in the first round. No one knows if they’ll be good or not, but they’re running backs, so we care.

*Adrian Peterson: It’s possible he gets traded. The only place he’s going is Dallas. So don’t worry too much about this.

*Wide Receiver Heavy: Armari Cooper, Kevin White, and DeVante Parker are all going to be first round picks. After that there could be 3-5 more wide receivers taken in the first round. I’m fairly certain that at least of them if going to be really good and if this class is anything like last year’s then all of them might be really good. If your team needs a wide receiver, you’re in luck.

*Other Positions: Chances are your team is going to take an offensive lineman or defensive player that you’ve never heard of because you only watched a handful of college football games this year. Here’s what you need to know about the guy your team takes: no one knows if he’s going to be good. It takes at least three seasons for a player to pan out in the NFL. Some players have a great rookie season and are never heard from again. Some players take longer to develop. If your team takes a player at a low-profile position, be thankful, because that means they’re set at the high-profile positions.

*You Don’t Have To Watch: There will be better things on TV between Thursday and Saturday like the NHL and NBA playoffs. If you’re on twitter, you can find out the draft picks minutes before it’s announced on TV. The NFL Draft is a long and boring process where, once again, no actual football is played. You won’t miss anything if you don’t watch.

Ultimate Football Blog's 2015 Final NFL Draft Position Rankings

The NFL Draft is just TWO DAYS AWAY!!!!!

Can you tell I'm excited??? You should be to. With the draft less than 24 hours away, it's time to churn out my final NFL Draft position rankings for the year. This is the list I go off of when I review the draft once it's over. One of the best parts of the NFL Draft is the numerous opinions you get from all over the place. One guy could have Marcus Mariota ranked as the #1 QB prospect this year mainly due to the guy's football intelligence and the fact that with a little patience and the right system, Mariota could end up being a stud in the NFL. Meanwhile, Jameis Winston is arguably the most talented QB in the draft, but his off-the-field stuff scares the crap out of some people. You can be ultra-talented and also extremely immature. Those two things don't usually go well together and I can see why some people see "JaMarcus Russell" when they look at Jameis. That's just part of the draft process.

The good news is, that process is ending soon and teams are finally going to have to stop throwing out smoke screens (hey Chip, stop signing QB's we know you aren't going to use...you're not fooling anyone) and actually make intelligent decisions. With that said, here are my top 10 positional rankings for the draft. If you are an NFL team that has yet to finalize your big board (Oakland Raiders?), feel free to use this one as a guide, free of charge. You'll be rewarded with a big fat "A+" on your draft review grade. Just ask the Cleveland Browns what that can mean for your NFL franchise.....

Power Ranking The College Football Coaches (PART TWO)

Don't look now, but the college football season is quickly approaching. We currently have spring games going on all over the country as teams try to tweak their rosters in an effort to put out the best possible team when the season starts in September (or is it late-August?). With so many question marks regarding each team's roster, it's best to stay away from making any kinds of predictions until we know for sure who's actually going to be on the field. One thing we do know for sure though is, which head coaches are going to be leading each team next fall. So, why not pick on them instead....right?

I shouldn't have to tell you guys how important coaching is in football. Out of all the big time professional sports, I think coaching is most important in the game of football. There are so many variables that can determine a football game's outcome, but one thing we know for sure is, if you have a great football coach (Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, etc.), you are going to win a lot of games. In the college football world, coaches are not only expected to perform big on game day, but they also play a massive part in recruiting. Great recruits want to play for great coaches who can help develop them into potential NFL studs which makes hiring a great college coach that much more important.

So, who are the best coaches in college football? That's a question we are looking to answer with this column. Instead of trying to rank each college coach individually, I decided to break it down by conference in an attempt to make it easier. So, without any further delays.....I present to you......
